2. There can be no children under the age of 8 years old in the home. We often do not know the full history of our dogs, and many of our owner surrendered dogs are also given up because they are no longer tolerating children well. This rule is for the protection of your children and our dogs!
3. You must be 25 years of age or older to foster.
Foster Application Process and Procedure
ONLY if you meet all of the above qualifications, and have room in your home to foster a furry family member until they are ready for adoption, fill out the application below.
After we receive the application back we will take some time to review the information. We may schedule a phone interview to learn more about you and your family, along with contacting your references and completing a vet check (speaking with the vet that you use about your current or past pets and how they have been cared for). If everything passes a home check will be scheduled. A ROEB volunteer will visit your home to meet you and your family and see where the bulldog would be living.
Please note - this process can take two to six weeks depending on the application demand at the time of applying. We are strictly a volunteer run organization and we ask for your patience during this process!
If everything checks out you will be approved to foster! Our foster coordinator will contact you when you have been approved and a dog is ready to come your way!
ROEB covers all vet costs associated with the dogs in foster. Foster families are required to pay for food and treats, and transport their foster dog to ROEB events and vet appointments. All costs associated with food and transportation are tax deductible!
If you are interested, please apply by emailing: or use the contact form below
Without fosters there would be no ROEB! We have no shelter location and all of our dogs are kept in loving homes by our wonderful, caring volunteer foster parents until they are cleared for adoption.
Being a foster parent is a rewarding and fun filled experience, but it can be challenging too. Dogs that come into foster can often have no history of training (manners, house trained, etc.) or require surgery or care until they are nursed back to health.
Most of our current foster homes say that the joy of watching their foster dog grow into a wonderful loving, trusting family dog outweighs these negatives.
BEFORE you apply PLEASE carefully review the foster rules and requirements! If you do not meet ALL of these qualifications please do not apply.
There are NO exceptions on these rules!
1. You must live in Ohio or be in a surrounding state within 2 hours driving distance of the border.
We will not ship our dogs!
